Clear Braces Q & A

What is ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect is a dentist-designed system of clear braces that offers an alternative option to traditional braces. When you get ClearCorrect from Dr. Angel and her team at Angel Dentistry, they begin the treatment by making precise digital impressions of your teeth. The team sends these impressions to the ClearCorrect lab where your custom aligners are made.

To correctly design each aligner in your system, the team maps out the incremental movements that will ultimately align your teeth perfectly. You wear your clear braces for most hours of the day, only taking them out to eat and drink anything but water. You progress to the next aligner in your series after a time period specified by Dr. Angel.

Each ClearCorrect aligner in your series places pressure on your teeth to guide them toward proper alignment. They’re transparent, so many people can’t tell you’re wearing them at all. This is a big difference from traditional braces, which alter your appearance for months or years at a time.

What are the advantages of using ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect aligners offer several advantages over traditional metal and wire braces. After an in-depth discussion about your personal needs and preferences, you may prefer the ClearCorrect option because of these benefits:

  • No change to your appearance
  • No dietary restrictions
  • Easy cleaning and care
  • Comfortable wear
  • Controlled movement and alignment
  • Fewer appointments

Additionally, ClearCorrect aligners are cost-effective and may save you time in your treatment. Dr. Angel discusses all of the benefits and drawbacks with you during your consultation and can give you a specific idea of how long your treatment will take.

How long does treatment with ClearCorrect take?

Just like with traditional braces, ClearCorrect treatments are specific to your needs in their length. Depending on how far out of alignment your teeth are, your treatment may last 1-2 years. After evaluating your teeth, Dr. Angel chooses one of these three treatment tracks:

  • Limited six: Six aligners in total
  • Limited 12: 12 aligners in total
  • Unlimited: A specific amount of aligners that your case requires

Dr. Angel may recommend ClearCorrect aligners if you need to fix an underbite, overbite, crossbite, or any variation of mild to moderate misalignment.
